Eco Estate
Hartenbos Landgoed was established and is subject to prescribed directives issued by Environmental Affairs. Strict rules are in place in respect of the keeping of pets.
Wildlife
Wildlife on Hartenbos Landgoed consists of animals such as the Angulate and Leopard Tortoises, Cape Grey Mongoose, African Striped Mice, as well as the occasional Puff Adder and Cape Cobra.
Birdlife consists of a variety of species which include the Cape Spurfowl (or Cape Francolin), Cape Spotted Owl, Burchell's coucal, Mousebird, Cape Robin, Fiscal Shrike and the Southern Boubou to name but a few. Also, if you are lucky you will spot the tiny Arum Frog.
Units
Hartenbos Landgoed was completed in 2017 and consists of 184 units.
The estate is governed in accordance with the Sectional Titles Management Act and Estate Rules. Homeowners pay a monthly levy to the Body Corporate which cover the costs of Insurance, Security, Estate Common Areas upkeep, Maintenance of Units on the outside, Gardens and the CSOS Levy. The levies are calculated annually in line with the participation quota of each unit. Municipal rates, taxes and service fees are excluded and must be paid directly to the Mossel Bay Municipality by the unit owner.
Gardens
Hartenbos Landgoed owners are particularly proud of their gardens. Great care is taken with garden layout and the planting of indigenous and local plant species, as per the preferred plant list in the Hartenbos Landgoed Plant Guide.
Recreation
Hartenbos Landgoed boasts a large communal swimming pool, a jungle gym for the kids and three designated play areas.
Estate Management
The day to day running of Hartenbos Landgoed is taken care of by the Trustees who also oversees the Estate Supervisor, the Administration Assistant, the Gardening Service contractor and various Maintenance Contractors.
The estate contracts the services of a Property Management Agent who is responsible for all body corporate related issues within Hartenbos Landgoed.
Security
Hartenbos Landgoed uses the service of an external security services provider and the perimeter is protected by an electrified fence.
A radio frequency identification system (RFID) controls access to Hartenbos Landgoed. Visitors, contractors, and friends are granted access through a cell-to-gate system.
